President Donald Trump indicated Sunday that he plans to meet with New York City's mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani and said they'll “work something out," in what could be a detente for the Republican president and Democratic political star who have cast each other as political foils. Trump has for months slammed Mamdani, falsely labeling him as a “communist” and predicting the ruin of his hometown, New York, if the democratic socialist was elected. He also threatened to deport Mamdani, who was born in Uganda and became a naturalized American citizen, and to pull federal money f

A New Orleans man who had his murder conviction tossed wins election as city’s chief record keeper

A New Orleans man who spent three decades in prison before his murder conviction was vacated won election Saturday to serve as the city’s chief criminal court record keeper, despite the state challenging his past. The city’s newly elected clerk of criminal court, Calvin Duncan, fought for decades to clear his name after being convicted of carrying out a 1981 fatal shooting. Duncan, a Democrat, later uncovered evidence that police officers lied in court, and had his conviction tossed by a judge in 2021. Duncan won with 68% of the vote, according to unofficial re

He initially stayed in before going to the sideline in obvious pain and heading inside for further evaluation. It's unclear how serious the injury might be or if it will cause Jacobs to miss Green Bay's game next weekend against Minnesota.

With the end of the penny, is the clock ticking for the nickel?

The American penny is history. The nickel might be next. The last pennies were pressed at the US Mint in Philadelphia on Wednesday, a victim of production costs higher than their worth coupled with limited usefulness.
