A Michigan woman faces murder charges in a Detroit arson attack case following a breakup. 31-year-old Cinamon Rigmaiden could face life for allegedly torching her ex's house and killing his mom. Wayne County prosecutors accuse Rigmaiden of dousing the front porch with an accelerant before igniting the blaze and fleeing the scene.
While Rigmaiden's ex-boyfriend was not present at the time, three others were inside the home. The fire claimed the life of 53-year-old Tina Dorrough, mother of Rigmaiden's ex. Two others, in their 50s and 60s, were hospitalized after the blaze. the identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy said, "since when is the solution in the breakup of a relationship setting fire to an occupied house?" Worthy called the act "beyond reprehensible."
Livonia police arrested Rigmaiden the following day. Rigmaiden's rap sheet now includes felony murder, attempted murder, and multiple arson charges.
After her Friday arraignment, Rigmaiden was sent straight to lockup. The accused killer maintains her innocence, pleading not guilty to all charges. Her lawyer claims she didn't intent to harm anyone.
